Here are a few photos of the new desk for our bus in the process of being built. All photos are courtesy of Jarel Beatty, Jarel Beatty Cabinetry, Logansport, Indiana.
- Framed base pieces.
- Assembling the right base.
- Assembling the left base using strap clamps because of the unusual angles.
- The right desk pedestal pieces. The face frame has openings for the four drawers stacked on top.
- The right pedestal and face frame.
- The left desk pedestal being glued and clamped.
- The right pedestal with the face frame attached. Note the blocking on the left side and back to support the ful-extension drawer slides.
- This is the cover that goes between the left and right pedestals/bases. It will hide the HVAC duct and wiring chase and provide a shelf for a UPS and NAS.
- A view from the right of all the pieces set as they will be when installed.
- A view from the left of all the pieces set in place. The left pedestal is open on each side but will have drawer fronts on the front.
- The bottoms of the both pedestals are cut out to provide access to the inside of the base underneath. The fan-coil heat exchangers will be in the bases and access is needed for service.
